During the rainy season, it's recommended to keep the medium-frequency melting furnace away from moisture to prevent malfunctions at 7 a.m.

What should you keep in mind when using an intermediate-frequency melting furnace in rainy and humid weather? Here are 7 tips for your reference:

  1. The medium-frequency melting furnace should be used regularly and not left idle for extended periods. If stored for a long time and then put back into use, first run the fan for 1 hour to remove moisture and clear any dust inside the machine. Afterward, power up the unit and perform a low-power test run. Only after confirming that everything is functioning properly should you proceed with normal operation.

  2. Always monitor the water temperature and pressure in the medium-frequency melting furnace. Ensure that all water channels—especially the thyristor cooling water passages—are completely clear, with no leaks or blockages occurring.

  3. Always monitor the engagement of the main AC contactor and air switch, as well as the temperature and color of the main contacts. If the contacts are already eroded, address or replace them promptly when they become loose.

  4. When operating the medium-frequency melting furnace during the rainy season, it is essential to ensure that condensation is removed from the thyristors and the main control board.

  5. Regularly check whether the cooling water flow through the sensor head is unobstructed and if the flow rate is sufficient—specifically, ensure the flow meter reading remains above normal levels. The water flow to the sensor head directly impacts its safe operation, as well as maintaining proper water temperature. If the water temperature becomes too high, take immediate action, as overheating could lead to sensor failure. Operators must pay close attention to these conditions at all times.

  6. Inspect the medium-frequency melting furnace once a month to remove dust from the machine. If any corrosion or loosening is detected, repair it before further use.

  7. If the medium-frequency melting furnace is not in use temporarily, drying and ventilation measures should be enhanced to prevent moisture from damaging the equipment.

In damp and rainy weather, medium-frequency melting furnaces must be equipped with moisture-proof measures. After all, medium-frequency furnaces are not inexpensive. Understanding the moisture-control precautions for these furnaces can help manufacturers better protect their equipment and reduce maintenance costs.
