300kW Piston Rod Cladding Equipment with Electromagnetic Induction Heating System

Advantages of energy-saving electromagnetic induction heating coils:

  1. Excellent energy-saving performance: Compared to conventional resistance heating coils, these products achieve energy savings of over 30%, though the exact efficiency can vary depending on the raw materials and the specific product being manufactured. However, among the products currently in use, the maximum energy-saving efficiency reaches up to 80%.

  2. Excellent environmental benefits: Effectively reduces the temperature of the production environment.

  3. Long Service Life: The heating coil operates continuously at a temperature of only about 100°C, eliminating the need for coil replacement and reducing secondary costs compared to the original resistance wire heating system.

  4. Enhanced Productivity: Thanks to the product's high heating efficiency and uniform heat distribution, it significantly reduces the time required for temperature rise, thereby boosting overall product output.

Traditional electric heating coils have the following drawbacks:

  1. Excessive Heat Loss: Currently, most companies use heating methods that involve resistance wires coiled into electric heating elements. As a result, both the inner and outer surfaces of these elements generate heat—while the internal heat efficiently transfers to the material barrel, much of the external heat escapes directly into the surrounding air, leading to significant energy waste and inefficiency.

  2. Rising Ambient Temperatures: Due to significant heat loss, the surrounding environmental temperatures are increasing—particularly impacting production environments during summer, where on-site temperatures often exceed 45°C. As a result, some companies are forced to rely on air conditioning to cool down, inadvertently leading to a second round of energy waste.

  3. Short service life and high maintenance requirements: Since resistance wires are used for heating, the heating temperature can reach around 300°C. At such high temperatures, the resistance wires are prone to aging and eventually burn out. As a result, the average lifespan of the heating element is approximately six months, leading to relatively extensive repair work.

Electromagnetic induction heating equipment and piston rod cladding systems, among others, offer numerous advantages, such as:

  1) The workpiece does not require overall heating; instead, it can be selectively heated locally, resulting in lower energy consumption and minimal deformation of the workpiece.

  2) Fast heating allows workpieces to reach the desired temperature in a remarkably short time—often within just one second or even less. This minimizes surface oxidation and decarburization, making gas protection unnecessary for most components.

  3) The surface hardening layer can be precisely controlled by adjusting the device's operating frequency and power as needed, resulting in a finer martensitic structure with higher hardness, strength, and toughness.

  4) After heat treatment via induction heating, the workpiece exhibits a thick, tough zone beneath the hardened surface layer, resulting in favorable compressive residual stresses that significantly enhance both the fatigue resistance and fracture toughness of the component.

  5) The heating equipment is easy to install on the production line, facilitating mechanization and automation, simplifying management, and effectively reducing transportation costs, saving labor, and boosting overall production efficiency.

  6) Multi-functional operation: It can perform various heat treatment processes such as quenching, annealing, tempering, normalizing, and stress-relief treatments, as well as tasks like welding, melting, hot assembly, hot disassembly, and thermal forming.

  7) Easy to use, simple to operate, and can be started or stopped at any time—no preheating required.

  8) It supports manual operation as well as semi-automatic and fully automatic modes; it can operate continuously for extended periods or be used flexibly—turned on and off as needed. This makes it ideal for leveraging favorable, low-electricity-rate periods during off-peak hours.

  9) High energy efficiency, environmentally friendly and energy-saving, safe and reliable, with excellent working conditions for employees.
