Eco-friendly Induction Heating Equipment: High-Frequency Quenching Furnace & Quenching Systems

The working principle of the quenching machine is as follows: The workpiece is placed inside an induction coil. When an alternating current of a specific frequency flows through the coil, it generates a surrounding alternating magnetic field. This changing magnetic field induces closed-loop currents—known as eddy currents—within the workpiece. These eddy currents are unevenly distributed across the cross-section of the workpiece, with high current density concentrated near the surface and gradually decreasing toward the interior. This phenomenon is called the skin effect. As the high-density currents at the workpiece's surface convert their electrical energy into heat, the surface temperature rises, effectively heating the material from the outside in. The higher the frequency of the current, the greater the difference in current density between the surface and the interior of the workpiece, resulting in a thinner heating layer. Once the temperature of this surface heating layer exceeds the critical temperature of the steel, rapid cooling is applied to achieve surface hardening through quenching.

Shenqiu Yongda High-Frequency Equipment Co., Ltd. specializes in the production of high-frequency machines, high-frequency thermal laminating machines, stainless steel annealing furnaces, and high-frequency induction heating equipment. Below, we’ll introduce the application areas and uses of our high-frequency equipment:

High-frequency equipment is widely used in processes such as thermal working, heat treatment, thermal assembly, welding, and melting of metallic materials. This is because it can heat not only the entire workpiece but also specific localized areas. Additionally, it enables deep penetration heating while simultaneously allowing for focused surface heating—making it versatile for both overall and partial heating of metal components.

The application areas of high-frequency equipment include: welding of diamond tools and cemented carbide cutting tools; heat treatment processes such as quenching, annealing, and tempering for metal materials; hot forging and hot forming of metals; as well as industries like powder metallurgy sintering and metal melting.
